One Year Before—Life during lockdown
For international students, life during lockdown was miserable and anxious. They had to stay away from parents, siblings and family members, and experienced hardships of living in the dormitory for months. But as Shah said, they "have overcome such hardships with the assistance of the Chinese people and the International Student Office of SEU Nanjing".
The International Student Office of SEU dealt with the emergency with quick response and fulfilled every student's request whenever there was a need. SEU and its International Student Office, when having recognized the lockdown was affecting the mental health of students, arranged counseling sessions every week for the students in case of stress or anxiety. Besides, there was no need for the students to worry about the shortage of surgical masks in that School of Electrical Engineering of SEU provided them and their Chinese peers with free masks every two or three weeks.
Not only school, but the stores in the neighborhood of school dormitory also put Shah at ease. The store owners organized WeChat groups voluntarily so that the students could place an order, which would be delivered to the students concerned at the gate.

Post-pandemic—Life at present
In daily life, Shah can feel the kindness from SEU. The International Student Office of SEU organized different events for students to help them stay motivated and relaxed. SEU also organized diversified activities and offered certificates as a kind of reward for international students.
Since the vaccines became available, the International Student Office of SEU also helped students to get inoculated, welcoming those interested to register for a shot without forcing them to participate.
In the article, Shah expressed his gratitude and thankfulness to the Chinese government and SEU as well as his supervisor for their vigorous support. He sent his best wishes to his country, and called for the necessity for cooperation with the government.
