Prof. Wang Chengxiang was elected as member of Academia Europaea
Recently, the Acadamia Europaea (Academy of Europe) officially announced the list of newly-elected members in 2020. Prof. Wang Chengxiang from School of Information Science and Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Mobile Communication of SEU was elected a member of the Academy of Europe for recognizing his outstanding contributions in the field of wireless communication.
The Acadamia Europaea, established in 1988, is one of the transregional scientific organizations with the most extensive academic fields, the highest academic status and the most influences in the world. Its members include the most outstanding scientific elites and academic authorities in the fields of natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences and humanities, etc. Election to the Academia is widely considered to be an international academic honor, which is elected once annually upon peer nomination, rigorous academic review, several rounds of voting by academic groups and faculties, etc., and finally approved by Council of the Academy of Europe. At present, the Academy has about 4,000 members, including 73 Nobel Prize winners, 6 Turing Prize winners and 15 Fields Medal winners.
Prof. Wang Chengxiang is an "IEEE Fellow", an "IET Fellow", the "Global Highly Cited Scientist" selected by Clarivate Analytics for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019, a member of the Executive Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, an "Outstanding Lecturer of IEEE Communications Association in 2019-2020", the leading talent of innovative and entrepreneurial groups of Jiangsu Province, the innovative and entrepreneurial talent of Jiangsu Province, and one of "2020 Top Ten Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers of Chinese Institute of Electronics".
At present, Prof. Wang Chengxiang is mainly engaged in the research of wireless channel measurement and modeling, B5G network architecture and key technologies, the integration of artificial intelligence and wireless networks, etc. He has published 4 monographs, nearly 400 journals and international conference papers, including nearly 140 papers in IEEE core journals, 24 ESI highly cited papers, and 11 international conference papers which were granted the "Best Paper Award". His papers have been cited by Google Scholar for more than 13,400 times with the index of 57.
He has served as the editorial board member or the guest editorial board member of 16 international journals, been invited to address keynote or specially invited reports at 20 international conferences and tutorials at 7 international conferences, and served as Chairman of more than 30 international conferences e.g., Chairman of Technical Program Committee or Branch Chairman. Besides, he has presided over or participated in more than 30 projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the British Engineering and Natural Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the European Union and the industry.
