Job Opening 2020-SEU in the Department of Sociology

The Department of Sociology at Southeast University invites applications and nominations for faculty appointments. Specialization sought is open, with preferred areas including cultural sociology, sociology of morality, sociology of medicine and health, urban studies, and big data analysis. Applicants with overseas experience are preferred.

The appointees will work in one of the areas described above; and are expected to conduct quality research, teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, develop curriculum, supervise students, and undertake administrative and service-related activities.

A PhD in Sociology or a closely related field. Candidates should have a solid publication record.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The university will provide research funding and housing subsidies.

Southeast University is a prestigious Chinese research university located in Nanjing city, Jiangsu province. It is a member of Project 985, Project 211, and “Class A first-rate world universities” listed by the Chinese Ministry of Education.     

The Department of Sociology was established in 2009, and now it has sixteen faculty members (70% with PhD from overseas universities). The Department has both undergraduate and master programs in sociology, and master programs in social work.
